We only had a few of days in Minho, and wanted to focus on a Vinho Verde wine tasting tour. I learned a lot about wine from the bartender at Hotel Minho
From the moment we received our Porto itinerary, one thing stuck out, dining at Chef Rui Paula’s DOP Porto. For me, DOP stands for high quality ingredients.
In fact, if I were dropped into Monsaraz without having any idea where we were, I would hesitate to guess Portugal.
As for our tour of Alentejo wine tasting . . . we stopped after Ervideira. We learned so much about the wine of the region, in such a short amount of time.
We’ve been on a quest to turn me into a full-fledged gin and tonic drinker, including drinking a gin and tonic at the Ritz Bar at the Four Seasons Lisbon.
After our Bistro 4 dinner, we had one more round of Filipe’s gin and tonics. I climbed into the plush Porto Bay bed and dreamed of limpets in the pan.
Portugal is loaded with options. It depends on whether you want high-end luxury, or intimate and personal, it’s all possible during a stay in Portugal.
Although we signed up for a customized culinary tour with Lazy Flavors, we actually received a walking tour of the Graça neighborhood of Lisbon.
That is how we found our way ninety minutes outside Lisbon, on a vineyard tour in Alentejo. Before that we really didn’t even know what Alentejo wine was.
